Local organizations urge county executive to strengthen complete streets proposal
Fourteen organizations submitted a letter to Howard County Executive Calvin Ball thanking him for his vision of better biking and walking in the county and providing comments on the county’s draft complete streets policy.
“Howard County residents deserve a world-class complete streets vision and policy structure that will ensure Howard County roads and pathways are safe, accessible and connected for years to come,” the letter states. “The current draft policy fails to live up to that expectation due to several shortfalls.”
Representatives from the Horizon Foundation, American Heart Association, Bicycling Advocates of Howard County, AARP Maryland, Gilchrist, African American Community Roundtable of Howard County, Humanim, Howard County NAACP, Association of Community Services, , People Acting Together in Howard, Howard County Chinese School, Race Pace Bicycles, Foreign-born Information and Referral Network and The Y in Central Maryland co-signed the letter.
